Sheridan Smith is set to star in a six part drama series Clean Break on ITV this year.
Sheridan Smith, who recently starred in Funny Girl: The Musical on the West End, is set to star in a new six part series on ITV.
Clean Break was created and written by Mark Marlow, and Sheridan will take on the lead in the drama.
Head of Drama at ITV Polly Hill said of the new commission: “It’s such a wonderful script that finds real humour and joy in the human struggle to survive.
“Sheridan is perfect for the role of Sam and I’m thrilled she’s returning to ITV to play her.”
Although details on the new series is early days, here’s what we do know so far.
Sheridan plays Sam, a cleaner and mum of two who is secretly struggling with an online gabbling addiction.

Working in shiny, money-centric Canary Wharf, her life at home life in modern suburbia is quite the contrast.
But cleaning around the office, she releases that she’s got access to some information on the stock market that might just get her out of her growing debt problems…
As the threat of her husband taking daughters Alice, 14 and Lily, 6 away for her increased, the information looks more and more tempting.
There’s no date yet for when the series might air, although fans are hoping for a post-summer 2017 series to get into.
