Viewers of the ITV soap took to Twitter in their droves to show their sheer distaste for the white lace floor-length outfit, which featured embroidered blooms in a variety of colours stitched across the body.
Fun-loving Sinead made sure to match her dress with a bright flowery tiara, oozing a festival vibe.
Her unorthodox choice came as she prepared to say I Do to fiance Chesney Brown.
Yet the red-head dad of one scuppered proceedings during his vows and sensationally said he couldn’t go through with the service.
So it was an I Don’t for both the dress, and their nuptials.
Perhaps he shared the same feelings as the swathes of Coronation Street fans who were left VERY confused by the less than traditional attire.
One took to Twitter during the first of Friday’s episodes to quiz: “Is it a fancy dress wedding?”
Another put: “WTF is Sinead wearing?!” as a third followed with: “Sinead looks like a bride in some obscure sex cult from the 1970s.”
Another commented: “That wedding dress is not ok it belongs on my nan’s table.”
Meanwhile one fashion-forward fan raged: “Sinead’s dress is awful.”
Another put: “Sinead’s dress looks utterly disgusting,” as one continued: “Well that dress is – clears throat – unusual.”
A Corrie loyal even went as far as to surmise her high-street choice was one of “the worst wedding outfits i have ever seen.”
Picking up on the festival vibe a fan rounded off with: “Maybe someone should tell our Sinead she is going to a wedding and not a hippie Woodstock love in!”
Meanwhile it was her relationship which was Sinead’s main concern at the register office.
His decision to halt proceedings was sparked hours before when he saw Sinead’s ex Daniel fix his gaze on her as she got the car to the ceremony.
Chesney’s sensational actions saw him disrupt the registrar mid-flow and wail: “I can’t do this – we have rushed it.”
He garbled: “He’s not ready – I’m sorry I should have said something earlier.
“This is all a mistake.”
