The TV regular has taken over the presenting duties from Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan this week.
And the host was seen exchanging words with Martin during an awkward interview on the early morning chat show.
The tense moment comes just a day after Kate was involved in another war of words with Good Morning Britain’s showbiz reporter Richard Arnold.
Kate and Martin were both on the GMB sofas with Ranvir Singh on Thursday morning for the money expert’s regular advice slot.
The trio were discussing the best way get cheap tickets for family days out.
Martin mentioned that parents could try saving up newspaper tokens to get cheaper entry into attractions.
As Kate and Ranvir began to question whether there was enough time left in the half term holidays for families to save up, they became very distracted in their discussion.
Martin continued talking as the pair still struggled to get their heads around his advice.
Kate suddenly started laughing as she revealed she was being told off by the programme’s director.
She said the director had said in her ear: “Have you forgotten you’re on TV? Just having a little chat.”
Martin ignore his two co-hosts laughs and seethed: “I’m just moving on and ignoring you both.”
However, he then laughed and jokingly said: “Which is what I tend to do usually anyway.”
Just 24 hours earlier, viewers watched as Kate had a clash with Richard.
Joining Kate and Charlotte Hawkins on the sofa, Richard shared details about Robbie Williams’ guest judge appearance on Gary Barlow’s talent show, Let It Shine.
“Not only will he be joining his old bandmates for a sing-song, he will be joining them as a guest judge,” the correspondent said.
As he went on to read out Robbie’s statement, Kate then asked: “Was Robbie a guest judge on X Factor? I know he performed on the show.”
Responding, Richard hit back: “You’re tugging on a thread there. He’s done the judge’s houses….”
Keen to share her recommendation, Kate added: “I think he would be good…”
However, Richard didn’t seem to be having any of it when he stated: “Are you listening to what I am saying?”
Insisting that she had been listening, Kate responded: “Yes, he did judge’s houses.”
The TV host was seen pulling a face as Richard moved on to his next topic but it was all in jest as the TV star sent a tweet out to Kate with an emoji of a face winking.
