Like any good mogul-in-the-making, Kylie Jenner is killing it at the philanthropy game.
Thanks to the sales of a special-edition lip kit, Jenner has raised nearly half of a million dollars for a great cause. The pale pink lipstick shade is called “Smile,” and Jenner is donating 100 percent of its proceeds to Smile Train, the charity she partnered with to get generous in a big way.
Jenner and Smile Train made their winnings through two limited runs of the “Smile” sale. The first release in October quickly nabbed $159,500, while the recent January restock raised an additional $300,000. That number brings the donation haul for Smile Train close to $500,000.
Smile Train works around the world to help kids who were born with cleft palates and are in need of surgery. The lip kit money is enough to help fund 1,800 cleft palate surgeries, according to People. That’s a lot of smiles to go around.
The big tally isn’t much of a surprise for anyone who’s ever experienced the wild demand for Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. Sales for shades often sell out within minutes of their restock, if you’re lucky. Here’s hoping Jenner does another run of “Smile” soon, because frantically entering credit card information probably feels a little less desperate if it’s for a good cause.
