Lacey Turner – who recently shared wedding photos after marrying childhood sweetheart, Matt Kay, in Ibiza – was cast as the original Our Girl in the BBC One drama in series one, which was aired in 2014.
The EastEnders actress – who is 29 years of age – took a break from the soap and her character Stacey Slater, to play Molly Dawes in the first series of Our Girl, before being replaced by Michelle Keegan in series two and three, who plays Georgie Lane.
Lacey – who is officially married as of September 2017 – recently revealed she was too busy with her EastEnders storyline to consider an Our Girl return.
So, as Our Girl series three continues without Lacey Turner, we’re looking at everything we know about the actress, including her husband, wedding and career…
Lacey Turner Our Girl episodes
Lacey Turner played Georgie Lane in 2014, the series didn’t return until 2016, a time when Lacey admitted she had too many commitments with EastEnders to take part.
However, creator Tony Grounds said he’d be more than happy to write Molly back in if that’s what she wanted.
He told the Radio Times: “If she ever wanted to do it she’s only got to ring me up – she knows that. I think it’s all about logistics. I don’t know how EastEnders works and we’re invariably filming abroad. But I love that Molly Dawes character.”
It’s also interesting to note that Molly married Captain James off-screen, who is played by Ben Aldridge, the wedding was mentioned in series two and fans were left disappointed it wasn’t aired.

Lacey and Matt told OK! magazine exclusively that it “felt like an amazing dream”.
The actress said: “We’re on cloud nine, it doesn’t feel real.”
While Lacey added: “I didn’t go to sleep until 5am on our wedding night as I was still so excited about the day and then I woke up at 8am!”
Lacey Turner as Stacey Slater EastEnders
Stacey Slater – now Stacey Fowler after marrying Martin Fowler on the soap – has been a part of EastEnders for 13 years.
Lacey has been playing Stacey since 2004, the day after she left school, but left in 2013 following story lines including drug abuse, bipolar disorder, abortion and a troubled relationship with her mother.
She officially returned to the show in 2014 and has won awards for her postpartum psychosis storyline.
Lacey Turner and her famous sisters
Lacey has two younger sisters and they are both actresses.
Daisy Turner is 27 and has portrayed Jenny Houston in Hollyoaks since 2011.
