Chances are, if you were in elementary school in the ’90s, you were all about sticker books. There were the puffy stickers, the fuzzy ones, and the ones that smelled like candy. You traded them with your friends — a dog for a cat and a unicorn for a rainbow. Now, there’s a new hairstyle that combines last year’s gold-leaf hair trend with ’90s-style stickers. It’s aptly called “sticker hair.”
First discovered by Popsugar, sticker hair is the creation of Allen Thomas Wood, hairstylist at Bumble and Bumble salon in New York City. He applied colorful Japanese stickers to slicked back hair using the end of a comb. Since he tagged the bookstore Kinokuniya USA, it’s safe to say that’s where he got his adorable stickers. The result is quirky and weird but also really, really cute.
Fans of Wood are loving the look. Instagram comments include: “omg omg omg in love” and “THIS MAKES ME UNDERSTAND LIFE.”

As much as the unicorn trend is fun, and it really is, it’s nice to see a hair trend that doesn’t involve glitter or the magical creature. How cool would this look be with all black stickers? Or just one shade, like millennial pink? A girl can dream.
