Earlier in the episode, Bekah said that she had doubts about whether or not she’d be ready to get married. A reasonable reservation for someone on The Bachelor, whether she’s 22 or not. But Tia jumped on that in a bit of bad faith and used some of her time with Arie during the group date to warn him about Bekah.
(Sidebar: I was thinking Tia was a frontrunner for The Bachelorette, but now that we’re being shown this conniving side of her, I’m not so sure.)

Bekah went to Arie, sobbing about how she doesn’t like it when people don’t see her as she really is, with her mascara running down her face just so.

She told him that her family wouldn’t have a problem with the age difference and showed him some gray hair. She probably takes that as evidence she’s an “old soul,” which to her credit I don’t think is a term she’s used to describe herself. Some fans were confused by Bekah talking about being close to her family, since not talking to her mother is what got her reported as a missing person. But the timeline is that after Bekah left the show, she went to work on a marijuana farm. Her mother didn’t hear from her for six days, which apparently was out of character for Bekah, and so her mother reported her missing. Some people misinterpreted the situation as Bekah telling her mother she was going to Humboldt County when really she was going on The Bachelor, but that’s not what happened. Bekah herself added to the confusion by tweeting “MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don’t get cell service on The Bachelor??” but that was a joke. Bekah was already off the show when she “went missing.”
Back to the show! Arie gave the group date rose to Kendall, which was kind of a surprise. Tia said “now it’s a two-on-one,” and Bekah made a wonderful “hmmm?” face.
Before Arie gave out the rose, Bekah told him that he sees her. UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE. And she said there’s more of her to see, ayyyy. She pleaded with him to see past her age and believe that she’s ready. “Have a little faith in me,” she said.
But then he gave the rose to Tia. He was sorry, but she said, “It’s okay. It’s gonna end well for you.” She held it together until she got into the van to the airport. Funny to think that just a few days after this happened, she went to a weed farm and then ended up on a milk carton.
Ciao for now, Bekah. It’s gonna end well for you, too. See you in Paradise.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
