The dad of three had a successful start for the team, scoring in their first Premier League game of the season, against Stoke.
And wife Coleen Rooney was the first to congratulate the 31 year old on his goal.
Taking to Twitter, the 31 year old shared an adorable snap of the England ace posing with their two eldest children, Kai and Klay, in the tunnel at Everton’s Goodison Park.
Alongside the sweet upload, posted to her 1.25million followers, she simply wrote: "Well done Dad," complete with a blue heart.
And fans rushed to praise the cute photo, as well as the footballer’s performance.
"Brilliant today Wayne, delighted to have witnessed it, back home amongst your own," one replied.
