Gino D’Acampo – who married his wife Jessica in 2002 – is a very famous face in the UK thanks to his successful career as a chef, his appearances on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield and his role on Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice.
The charismatic Italian chef is one of the UK’s favourites thanks to his charming ways and great on-screen chemistry with friends and co-stars Fearne Cotton, Holly, Keith and Phillip.
However, it may surprise all those Gino D’campo fans out their to learn the 41 year old star’s real name is not Gino.
Welcomed into the world by parents Alba and Ciro in Torre Del Greco in Italy in 1976, Gino was born Gennaro D’Acampo.
Gino is of course a nickname for Gennaro, which in the Italian origin means ‘of Janus,’ which in Roman religion is the animistic spirit of doorways.
However, left without a middle name, Gino made a bold choice in 2015 when he allowed his name to be changed to Gennaro Sheffield D’Acampo.
Keith Lemon had viewers fill a poll of what they thought Gino’s middle name should be, the choices being between Keith, Juice or Sheffield.
On the hit show, Gino made his middle name Sheffield by signing an official statement.
Fans are still shocked by the name, taking to Twitter to share: “I love going onto Gino D’Acampo’s Wikipedia page on occasion just to see that his middle name is actually Sheffield.”
Another wrote: “Just found out Gino D’Acampo’s middle name is Sheffield !!! Dying.”
You can catch Gino on Celebrity Juice on ITV2 at 10pm on Thursdays.
